Counsel Local

Terms of use

Effective November 4, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Counsel Local website. Using the Counsel Local software itself is covered by a separate agreement that you accept when you install it.

Not legal advice, and not a law firm

Counsel Local is software for lawyers. It isn't a law firm or a lawyer. Nothing on this website is legal advice, and using the site or contacting us doesn't create an attorney-client relationship. The software helps licensed lawyers with their work. The lawyer remains responsible for checking its results and for every decision, filing, and bill.

Information on this site

We describe Counsel Local accurately, but it is early software offered as a pilot, so features, supported states, and prices may change. The screenshots show fictional sample matters. Asking for early access doesn't guarantee a place in the pilot.

Using the site

Please don't misuse the site. That includes interfering with how it works, trying to get into parts of it that aren't public, or sending false or harmful information through the form. Don't send confidential client information through the form.

Our content

The text, design, screenshots, and the Counsel Local name and logo belong to Counsel Local. You may share links to the site and quote short passages with credit. Please ask before reusing anything else.

Links to other sites

Where we link to other websites, such as court or bar sites, we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Disclaimers and limits

The website is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties about the website, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about the website will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Riverside County, California, unless the law of your state requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do.
